Holy Family Cathedral
Children’s Faith Formation Programs (CCD)
Holy Family Cathedral’s Faith Formation program strives to provide an atmosphere where families –parents, children, and youth can experience God’s love and Word so that faith may become living, conscious, and active. The PK-8 program commits itself to a close collaboration with the family, the “domestic church,” as the most important Christian influence since it is in the home that a child learns that faith, and the parish community to fulfill this mission.
Classes are held on Sundays August through May in the Holy Family Center at the corner of 5th and I.
Participation in the Faith Formation program (CCD) is never a substitute for attending Mass, and children are expected to attend Mass at least weekly.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd • Ages 3 to 5
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children. It is rooted in the Bible, the Liturgy of the Church and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in an ‘Atrium’, a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use as tools in order to encounter the Good Shepherd.
Faith and Life Series • Grades 1-8
The Faith and Life religious education series presents Catholic teaching using time tested methods of catechesis and faith formation. In a beautiful, student-friendly, comprehensive format.
