For Children in second grade
Our First Communion classes begin with registration in August for the beginning of CCD. We use the Faith and Life series for our curriculum. If you choose to Homeschool, please let us know so that we can include your child in all the communal activities for First Communion. During this year of preparation, children, including those who are homeschooled, will meet with a priest or the Catechetical Director at least once, be prepared for confession by going twice before First Communion, and memorize their prayers. A current baptismal certificate must be turned in prior to first Reconciliation. This time of grace is a renewal of faith for the whole family.
For Older Children
We offer Communion classes for children in Grade 3 and above who have not yet made their first Communion. Sacramental preparation classes will begin Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 1 p.m. for those who are either currently attending CCD or being homeschooled. If your child is currently attending CCD, they will be automatically enrolled in the preparation class. No new students (those not attending CCD now or not being homeschooled now) can be accepted because of time constraints. Please call the office if you have questions. We want to be sure that no child who is properly disposed is denied the sacraments. Jesus tells us, “Let the children come to me.”
For Adults
If you are Catholic and have not made your first Holy Communion, preparation is offered through our Confirmation classes which will begin January 7, 2016. If you are not Catholic, the preparation is offered through RCIA, or a special program set up by the individual priest.
